SmartOffice Releases Track Changes for Word

Our customers have told us what they need and want, and we listened. Today, we are proud to announce SmartOffice, our leading mobile office productivity app, has released a significant new feature: Track Changes for Word documents. This highly valued feature is used across many industries and organizations to markup documents and share edits, comments and changes on Word documents.

SmartOffice becomes the first major mobile app other than MS Office to include this significant feature – we’re pretty proud of that. We know you lawyers, contract administrators, collaboration teams and many others have been dying for this feature, and we’re pleased to bring it to you. It’s another way we put the power to work at your fingertips.

SmartOffice Track Changes will provide the key functionality a mobile user will need to “mark-up” a Word document and will enable teams to effectively collaborate by exchanging edits and comments on a single document shared back and forth.

The screen shot to the left provides a view of the new Track Changes menu. Key features include:

  • Enable/disable change tracking on your device
  • Author configuration (add your name/initials to accompany your edits)
  • Display changes in the edited document
  • Edit existing changes
  • Add and view comments
  • Previous/next change navigation
  • Reject/accept changes made by others

Our first release of SmartOffice with Track Changes is available for Enterprise customers in both SmartOffice branded and SDK customizable versions We’ll be releasing a version to app stores for individual users in the near future.
